Someone wise once said that the true measure of a society lies in how it treats its least. Or maybe
no one said that and I’m that great person. If the least in our society today can be taken to be the
abandoned and orphaned children of Nairobi, then by virtue of counting among our one Mama
Tunza, then we are a great society indeed.
N’ASA had the opportunity of making a contribution to the amazing work being done by this great
lady on Saturday the 15th of December. It was an amazing experience and everyone who missed out
is worse off for it.
Tunza Children’s Home is in Kibiko, Ngong and at first glance elicits feelings of sadness and pity for
the children who live there. But once you get to interact with the children and get a sneak peek into
their lives, it is rapidly evident that these children have an abundance of love and comfort.
This becomes even more amazing once you get to hear the story of Mama Tunza and what it took
her to take Tunza to where it is now.
The children were happy and so open in their interactions with us. We ate together, played together,
prayed together, and had a wonderful day together.
