Message from the Chairman and Secretary General

The University of Nairobi Geology Students Association is an aggregated body of the geology students’ fraternity.  Its main function is to unite, promote and support members, as N.U.G.S.A we believes that more can be achieved when tackling geological challenges together.

N.U.G.S.A is the umbrella organization for both The American Association of Petroleum Geologists (A.A.P.G) and The Society Of Exploration Geophysicist (S.E.G).  One of the main objectives is to unite and support member activities by encouraging and facilitating knowledge sharing and by inviting experts in relevant geological areas.  N.U.GS.A aims to bring to its member’s attention the departmental issues and to work collaboratively in finding solutions.

N.U.G.S.A therefore encourages students at all levels to join hands in achieving our mission and vision by actively participating in the set out activities in the annual calendar of activities. We believe that in working together we can manage to resolve geological problems affecting our society.

Let our spirit be driven by the mantra; UNITY IS STRENGTH.

In the future, mankind’s development must be able not only to meet the needs of the present, but also allow future generations to meet their own needs hence our practical mission and vision must be achievable.

NUGSA is taking the organizational level role in pushing forward efforts to give substance to the concept of sustainable academic development.

A significant landmark on the road to sustainable academic development as laid down in our annual calendar of activities is to holistically make geological learning environment an enjoyable venture to the upcoming geologists.

As we join hands in seeing the set out objectives I would urge each and everyone to be self driven in making the organization a stronger pillar and a force to be reckoned  with in achieving the students welfare in a commendable way.

Geology is a fascinating science of unpredictable eventualities.

Secretary General
